Boris Rosin, MD, PhD Research

Boris Rosin, MD, PhD, is a physician-scientist specializing in inherited retinal dystrophies. He is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at UPMC and a vitreoretinal surgeon who performs all types of vitreoretinal surgery and sees all types of retinal patients.

Research Focus
Dr. Rosin's laboratory is dedicated to studying the visual signal processing in the CNS of various animal models of IRDs. His lab collaborates with many other laboratories at the Vision Institute, providing functional assessment of visual function and functional vision in animal models visual disorders. He continues a close collaboration with Dr. Sahel on research and publications topics related to IRDs. Dr. Rosin is the local PI of two observational studies exploring the natural history of IRDs.
