The UPMC Vision Institute provides high-quality care for everyday vision needs like eye exams, contacts, and eyeglasses to specialized care for the cornea, retina, optic nerve, glaucoma, neuro-ophthalmology, and orbital disorders. The department sees hundreds of patients a day among all of sites.

All Current Ophthalmology Openings

Ophthalmic Technician:

Work alongside ophthalmologists to perform eye exams, diagnose diseases and administer treatments

 

Ophthalmic Imager:

Use specialized equipment to capture images of the eye, helping ophthalmologists diagnose and treat eye diseases. These images can include fundus photography, optical coherence tomography (OCT), fluorescein angiography, ultrasound and ultrasound biomicroscopy.

 

Surgery Scheduler:

Ensure, organize, and maintain an active, accurate, and operational surgery schedule.

 

Certified Orthoptist:

Responsible for evaluating and treating children and adults with ocular motility disorders. Working in a clinical setting to access patients with the use of retinoscopy, ocular motility and bi-nocular vision including but not limited to amblyopic, convergence insufficiency and accommodative esotropia.
