Research Focus
The lab specializes in developing advanced machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) techniques for the detailed analysis of choroidal and retinal structures using multimodal ophthalmic imaging. A key focus of the lab is the choroid, a vital but often underexplored part of the eye involved in diseases such as age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and central serous chorioretinopathy (CSCR). By developing innovative tools for detecting and quantifying choroidal features, the lab enhances diagnostic precision, disease progression prediction, and treatment monitoring for these and other retinal and choroidal conditions. The lab's work spans multiple ocular diseases, emphasizing improving outcomes through earlier detection and disease progression prediction. Collaborating with clinicians, industry partners, and research organizations, the Choroidal Analysis and Research Lab aims to integrate these cutting-edge AI solutions into both clinical and research environments, ultimately leading to better patient care and advancements in ophthalmic research.
