John Swogger, DO, joined UPMC in September 2017. He is certified in ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He serves mainly in a clinical role on the glaucoma service, providing medical and surgical care for glaucoma and cataracts for patients. He is also involved in fellow and resident clinical and surgical education.
As the Director of Information Systems, Dr. Swogger is currently overseeing the integration of electronic medical records during the UPMC Bridges Project. He is also involved in streamlining clinical workflows and supporting data-driven decision-making to advance patient care.
