Prior to coming to Pittsburgh, Dr. Lobanova was an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology, Pharmacology and Therapeutics at the University of Florida, Gainesville.

Research Interests

The long term goal of Dr. Lobanova's laboratory is to identify and develop approaches to target common pathobiological mechanisms shared between multiple forms of retinal degeneration with the two most mature directions as follows:  Targeting Ubiquitin Proteasome System Insufficiency to Delay Vision Loss and Altered Phospholipid Composition as a Driver of Retinal Degeneration and Visual Dysfunction.
