S. Tonya Stefko, MD

Dr. S. Tonya Stefko specializes in comprehensive ophthalmology, ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery, and aesthetic and cosmetic ophthalmic surgery. She actively participates in the Human Eye Perfusion Project with Dr. Leah Byrne. In February 2020, she was the chair of the Orbital Education Day at the annual meeting of the North American Skull Base Society in San Antonio, TX, an entire day at this international meeting devoted to surgery in and around the orbit. She is part of the Center for Cranial Base Surgery at UPMC, a multidisciplinary group devoted to minimally disruptive ways to treat pathology in this very complex anatomic region. Dr. Stefko is also a very active teacher of medical students, residents, fellows, and an international set of attending surgeons who attend the several times-annually hands-on courses offered by the Cranial Base Surgery group at UPMC.
