During medical school, Dr. Beale worked at the Institut de la Vision in Paris and took a research year under the mentorship of Dr. Leah Byrne, where he worked on developing platforms to facilitate research in gene therapy vector engineering. Dr. Beale has also done work in diseases of the choroid and image processing of the retina using machine learning.
