Working as a full-time research technician while obtaining his MS and PhD degrees, Dr. Mandell has been engaged in microbiology, oncology, and ophthalmic research, resulting in over 25 peer-reviewed manuscripts. His contributions to the medical research field include the use of novel treatments to help patients with treatment refractory osteosarcoma and chronic infections related to bacterial biofilms. Dr. Mandell additionally serves as general and technical supervisor for clinical microbiology testing and diagnostics for ophthalmic patient specimens.
