Dr. Karima Khimani was born and raised in Karachi, Pakistan and moved to San Antonio, Texas with her family where she completed her high school. She received a BS in Biology from the University of Texas at Austin. She then attended medical school at Baylor College of Medicine. During this time, she pursued her research interests in ocular surface inflammatory biomarkers at the Ocular Surface Center at Cullen Eye Institute. She completed her internship in Internal Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine. She stayed in the Houston area to complete her Ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch where she served as the Chief Resident. During her free time, Karima likes spending time with her family, hiking at state/national parks with her husband, and exploring roller coasters.
