Farida Hakim, MD

Dr. Farida Hakim grew up in scenic north central Pennsylvania. An avid reader and writer, she obtained her BA in English Literature at Haverford College. She then attended the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. After a brief stint in Cleveland at Case Western Reserve/University Hospitals for her internship in Internal Medicine, she was delighted to return to the University of Chicago for her ophthalmology residency training. She is passionate about medical education and has pursued numerous research and curriculum development projects in medical school and residency.  She is happy to be back in Pennsylvania at the University of Pittsburgh for her Cornea and Refractive Surgery fellowship. Outside of ophthalmology, she enjoys reading, cooking with her husband, traveling, and spending time outdoors.
